FINLEY: This morning I woke up very early!  Normally I get to wake up when I want to.  But today, Dada woke me.  We went in the kitchen and when he asked if I wanted oatmeal or cereal.  I said Pancakes!  He was surprised and mommy and he debated this for a few minutes.  But I wanted pancakes for my special first day of school breakfast.  So Dad and I made them.  When it was time to go, I wanted to bring Bear.  Mommy and Dada debated this for a few minutes again.  But I wanted to take Bear!  When we went out to get in the car, mommy gave me a sign to hold.  I don’t really know why and didn’t really want to take a picture.  Then we arrived at school.  We walked to my classroom and I saw Ms Pam and Ms Danielle.  We put my stuff in my cubby.  Mommy and Daddy left.  They spied on me a little through the window.

MOMMY: I dropped Bryan off at the house and went to Walgreens to buy some hand sanitizer for Finley.  I dropped some off at Farrah’s house and was headed back to the house when I got a call from the school.  It was Ms Karri, the director.  Apparently after we left, Finley realized it and ran to the class door.  He told them that he needed to get out so he could find his Mommy and Dada.  Ms Karri gave him a tour of the school and took him outside to the playground.  She was very impressed with his communication and vocabulary.  I’m not sure what all he told her.  But she didn’t think he belonged in the younger 3’s/older 2’s class.  So when they went back to class, she took him to the 3’s class and called me.  She wanted to make sure I was ok with him being in that room instead.  I was because he has his friends in his class and had tried to move him after we signed up but there wasn’t room: Avery, Aubrey, Audrey, Finnigan, and Lillian.

When we went to pick him up, he cried when he saw us.  I held him while we cried together.

For his day, Finley told us about the sand table outside, going down the slide, and that he’d told the teacher that his cat died.  He told me later that he thought we had left him.
